1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:城市角落(a place in your city you want to go to)

There are lots of places I like to go, depending on my mood. Today ‘though,I’m going to tell you about a special place near to where I live. I will explainwhere it is and how I get there. I will try and describe what it looks like andexplain why I like the location so much.

I am lucky, although I live in a city, from my house I can walk to theedges of the Peak District, which is a beautiful national park just a few milesfrom the city centre. To get to the national park I have to walk from my housedown some local roads, and up a steep hill past some allotments. After about amile or so striding out away from the urban areas, I get to a lovely bit ofwoodland which has a public footpath you can follow on wards and upwards. It canbe a bit of a scramble towards the end of the path as it is very steep indeed, but eventually, you leave the woodland and are on the edge of open farmland.Another footpath crosses some sheep-filled fields, and finally, you are on themoors of the Peak District. It is really spectacular.

The Peak District can be a really wild place, with its vast expanses ofopen moorland. You are high up, and it is quite exposed so it can be very windyand cold even in the summer. There are rocky outcrops and strange configurationsof stones that have been weathered by centuries of wind and rain to createdramatic shapes. Some boulders are in piles, and there are steep vertical cliffstoo. The area attracts lots of people who like walking, climbing and boulderingbecause of its unique and beautiful landscape. Everywhere is dark wet peatunderfoot and lots of heathers. This is a low growing plant that flowers at theend of the summer turning the whole landscape purple. The park covers a hugearea, I think around 555 square miles, so the terrain differs from area to area,of course, I am biased, but I believe I live near the most remarkably beautifulpart.

I love this place, because if ever I am feeling down, or a bit enclosed, injust an hours walk I can find myself in a deserted but picturesque place, wherethe elements are more extreme. In winter rain and wind can batter you, but insummer the sky seems to go on forever. Every day is different up there, andevery hour of every day too. The area is so huge, that often you can have it allto yourself, of course, there are other walkers about, but you can quicklydisappear in the vastness of the space. The people who live in Sheffield, likeme, are very proud that we are so near to the Peak District National Park, andit is no surprise it became the United Kingdom's first national park on 17 April1951. A birthday that should be celebrated I think!

    雅思口语Part2物品类题库:一件艺术品

Describe a piece of artwork or handicraft you made at school.

    You should say:

    when you made it

    what it is like

    how you made it

and explain why you made it.

We didn’t do a lot of arts and crafts when I was at school, so when we didit was a big deal. When you’re a kid, glue and paint ismuch more interestingthan numbers and books, so it really sticks in your mind.

I remember one year, I was in primary school, so I must have been six orseven years old. It was Mother’s Day and my teacher told us we would make agreeting card for our mum to say thank you to her for raising us and to showthat we loved her.

My memory is a little hazy, but I can still recall using the specialscissors that you have in school, the ones that are extra safe so that childrendo not hurt themselves when they try to cut something. We also had the sticks ofglue that you have to twist the bottom to get the sticky part. I cut a big heartout of some red paper and stuck it on to a yellow piece of card, then I coveredit in glue and poured sparkly stuff all over it.Looking back it seems a bit overthe top, but when you’re a child the more the better! Inside I wrote, “I loveyou, mummy” and drew a very bad picture of me.

Like I said, when you’re a kid you are always excited to make things andget messy with paint and glue. But because it was for my mum I was extra pumpedup and wanted to make her the most beautiful card ever! She still has it today, along with a lot of other embarrassing artwork and photos from my childhood.

    雅思口语Part2物品类题库:想学习的技能

    You should say:

    what it is

when you first became interested in it

how you will learn about it

and explain why you want to learn more about it.

One of my biggest passions in life is food. I would say I’m not generally afussy eater and I’m willing to try pretty much anything. I like food from allover the world, whether it’s spicy curries from India or delicious pasta dishesfrom Italy.

Unfortunately, while I’m very good at eating food, I’m not so great atcooking it! I can cook basic food, but my culinary skills are certainly nothingto write home about. I used to watch my mum cook at home, but not a lot of hertalent rubbed off on me. Nevertheless, it sparked my interest in cooking andfood in general.

I guess I could learn how be a better cook by reading a recipe book orwatching cookery programmes on TV, but to be honest I think I’d be better offgoing to lessons. Once I’ve picked up the basics I can always try using a bookat home, but to start I think I should have a teacher telling me what to do.

One thing I love to be able to do is cook an Indian curry from scratch. Thebest curries are always cooked without using a jar of sauce, but it requires alot of different spices and you need to know how to use them.

I think it would be great to be a better cook as cooking can be verytherapeutic and relaxing. Besides, everyone loves a good cook and it’s helpfulto impress members of the opposite sex!
