    Plot:

1.The novel opens with an extended description of the Maison Vauquer, a boarding house standing in the end of the Paris\\" rue Neuve-Sainte-Geneviève covered with vines, owned by the widow Madame Vauquer. The residents include the law student Eugène de Rastignac, a mysterious agitator named Vantuuiun, and an elderly retired vermicelli-maker named himself Father Goriot. The old man is ridiculed frequently by the other boarders, who soon learn that he has bankrupted himself to support his two well-married daughters. At first he paid twelve hundred francs a year.It was a great amount of money.Goriot had brought with him a considerable wardrobe, the gorgeous outfit of a retired tradesman who denies himself nothing. But later, he reduced his charter hire because his daughters often came to him for money. He moved to a bad room in the flat and say goodbye to his comfortable time.

refuses to go along with the plot, balking at the idea of having someone killed to acquire their wealth, but he takes note of Vauntuiun\\"s machinations. This is a leon in the harsh realities of high society. Before long, the boarders learn that police are seeking Vauntuiun, revealed to be a master criminal nicknamed Trompe-la-Mort.Vauntuiun arranges for a friend to killVauntuiun\\"s brother, in the meantime, and is captured by the police.

3.Introduced by his aunt cousin Beausaant. There he was greeted by Delphine and introduced to high society people, who invite him to their houses. He then realizes that he is being accepted in Parisian aristocracy and envied by many on account of his intimate acquaintance with Beausaant.Upon arriving at the boardinghouse, Railignav goes up to see Old Goriot and reports on his evening, adding that he prefers Delphine because she seems fonder of her father. The two men then engage in a long conversation in which Goriot expounds on paternal love, saying, "since I have been a father, I have come to understand God." The old man added that he would be so pleased if Railignav and Delphine were to love each other.Railignav, very touched by Goriot\\"s concern and dismayed at Delphine\\"s thoughtlene, bid the old man good night.

4.At the Nucingens\\", Railignav fiound Delphine completely downcast and making vain efforts to hide it.Taken a little aback by her attitude, Railignav urged Delphine to tell him what the matter was.Instead of answering his questions since he kept on offering his help, she took him to a gambling place, gave him a hundred francs, and asked him to bet them and try to win six thousand.A little uneasy at first, for he had never been in a gambling place and does not know what to do, Railignav became lucky and ends up winning seven thousand.Delphine, overjoyed, undertook to tell him why she needed the money so badly.Married to a man whom she did not really love, she pursued a separate life, using her savings and money she had borrowed from her father. Then she met Marsay and borrowed money from him, but when Marsay proved unfaithful, she wanted to return it.Her husband refused to help her unle she would be a wife to him.Now she could free herself from Marsay and gave him his money back, thanks to Railignav\\"s winnings.

5.A carriage stopped in the Rue Nueve-Sainte-Genevieve, Anastasie came here to visit his father. She cried to tell her father and sister that she was in a difficult. Her husband owe a hundred thousand francs to the others.Even her husband sold her demand their money was still not enough.Old Goriot cried and said he would sell his blood, his life, server in the army for other people even to helped others to kill people in order to get money for his daughter. The next day, he sold and his silver dinnerware and the Relics of his dead wife.He was very emotional and had the disease ofcerebral hemorrhage. He was too sick to get up from bed. Both of his daughters came to attend a big party in Beausaant\\"s house with Father Goriot\\"s money. They both forgot their father when they enjoyed their time with beautiful dre.

6.In the afternoon of the same day, Bianchon asks Railignav to look after Goriot. The old man\\"s condition had grown worse, and he did not think he would live long, but he still wanted to fight the disease.Of course, they would need some money. The old

man does not have a penny left and Rastignac only twenty francs. The young medical student decided to get the needed medicine on credit at the dispensary where he worked. In the meantime, Railignav was to apply hot mustard poultices on the old man\\"s feet and legs.Neither Delphine nor Anastasie would visit Goriot as he lies on his deathbed, and before dying he raged about their disrespect toward him.His funeral was attended only by Railignav, a servant named Christophe, and two paid mourners.Goriot\\"s daughters, rather than being present at the funeral, send their empty coaches, each bearing their families\\" respective coat of arms.

    Evaluation of the Book :

As far as I am concerned, this book is a very good book which gives us valuable information about the society condition of the 19th century in France. It exposed the disappearance of the emotion because the social idea. The human\\"s conscience died out.I do not like sad story, the story has a very miserable edding.I firmly believed that this really happened at that period.Even in this times, these kind of cothurnus happens.I think, Old Goriot\\"s daughters will finally regret. When they become mothers, they will understand their father, but it is too late. This book intends to tell us we it is our responsibility to show our love and respect to our parents. They give us life, do not wait until it is too late to show our filial piety. This is an important leon we should pay great attention to.
